Have you heard the word osteoporosis? Do you know anything about it? It is a common knowledge that, when we heard the word “osteoporosis”, we always think that it is an old man’s disease. But this is not always the case. Osteoporosis is also known as the brittle bone disease. Why? Because, as we age, our bones become literally brittle especially if not taken care of. Here’s a thing, to know more about this bone condition, I am going to share some information about it.
Brittle bone disease is simply the weakening of the bone due to mutations and other reasons like continuous trauma and shock. Normally, bones should be hard (not brittle as in the case of osteoporotic individual). Osteoporotic patients’ bones are very weak and prone to fracture. Spinal cord, foot, and weight bearing bones are the most common part being affected whenever you have osteoporosis.
Through times, different creeds have surfaced with regard to this. Some beliefs even originated from doctors’ mouth of prestigious and famous hospitals. Let us take for instance Hospitals in Los Angeles or the Florida Chiropractors. Because it came from medical practitioners (doctors or chiropractors) it seemed authoritative. As a result, a person who suffers from osteoporosis resort to false and improper treatment. They might not notice it but these improper interventions usually result to further worsening thus, the gravity of the condition. As much as possible, try to avoid this approach.
Now, if you still believe that it is an old person’s disease, then think again. You should correct your perception. It may be true but the principle does not apply to all.
